FAQ

How to make delicious coffee?

1. Coffee

✦ Light roast, very fine fresh grind, roasting time no more than a month. With a longer period (or when stored in loose containers), the coffee oxidizes, a rancid taste appears, and there may be no foam.

2. Water

✦ pH (acidity) - about 7 (neutral), hardness - less than 2 degrees of hardness (or less than 2 mEq / l, or less than 100 mg / l) - soft water. Excellent results when using water from a reverse osmosis membrane filter.

3. Proportions

✦ for 100 g of water, at least 5 g of coffee (1 heaped teaspoon of coffee). At a ratio of 100: 3 - weak coffee, sparse foam, at 100: 10 - strong coffee, rich foam.

4. Load sequence for the coffee maker

✦ First water, then sugar (if necessary), then coffee. It is better not to stir, then the foam will be richer, the taste is softer - the extraction will take place in a gentle mode.

5. Coffee machine settings

✦ If you follow all the rules above, then the factory settings almost always provide a great taste of the drink. However, in some cases, individual adjustment of the cooking mode is required, because everyone has different tastes. In addition, the boiling point of water depends on many factors - atmospheric pressure, the composition of the water in your area, the presence of sugar, etc.
✦ Usually, the setting is reduced to changing the time of the four final starts of the coffee maker.

5.1 The coffee is digesting - too intense bubbling at the end of brewing - the duration of the final pulses should be reduced.

1. Press and hold the fluid selection button for about 3 seconds - a double beep will sound, the display will show the flashing number of the parameter being changed (it corresponds to the number of the parameter (a number in a circle, for example, on the graph) and its value.
2. Press the "+" button four times - the display shows the scrolling inscription "Stage 5, heater pulse duration" (the required mode is selected).
3. Press the "START" button - the display shows "69" (or another number is the current duration of the heater pulse) - we entered the mode of changing the duration.
4. Use the "-" button to decrease the duration, for example, to 30 (by half).
5. Press and hold the fluid selection button for about 3 seconds - a signal will sound - this is to save the changes.
As a result, we reduced the duration of all four final impulses by half, and the boiling decreased. If this is not enough, repeat the procedure and set an even shorter duration.

5.2 The coffee is "undercooked" - no bubbling at the end of the brew. - the duration of the final impulses should be increased.

1. Proceed in the same way as in paragraph 5.1, only increase the duration with the "+"

Can I leave the coffee maker on the base for a long time?

✦ You can, just keep in mind that, although the coffee maker goes into sleep mode, there is still a small electricity consumption - like any technology with touch buttons or a remote control, for example, a TV. If this is critical, you can remove the coffee maker from the base and put it next to it.

The boiling water / coffee has started, and the temperature is not 100 degrees.

To prepare coffee, its temperature should not be brought to 100 degrees.

The temperature sensor may not show 100 degrees for various reasons -

  • in the dynamics of heating the sensor, its temperature does not have time to equal the temperature of the water,
  • there is heat exchange between the walls of the glass and the external environment, therefore the sensor temperature is always lower than the water temperature,
  • any sensor has a measurement error, in our case - about 1 degree.
